ER316/ER316L Stainless Steel MIG Welding Wire
Primarily used for welding wrought and cast forms of similar composition as well as low carbon molybdenum bearing austenitic alloys, ER316/316L MIG Wire is a low carbon alloy that is is not as strong as 316H at elevated temperatures.
The presence of molybdenum increases its creep resistance at elevated temperatures. The lower ferrite level of this normal composition reduces the rate of corrosion in certain media and is suitable for use at cryogenic temperatures.
ER316/316L is used for welding types 316 and 316L stainless steels. It has a maximum carbon content of .03% to reduce the possibility of formation of intergranular carbide precipitation.
